Check-in and Check-out Information:  

Check-in time is 3:00-5:00pm at Moon.  Please contact us in advance for an early or late check-in so we can make proper arrangements (note, early check-ins are not always possible).  Check-out time is prior to 11:00am.  Late check-outs are generally not possible due to us being able to accommodate arriving guests.  If we are able to accommodate a late check-out, additional fees will apply ($50 for one hour, $100 for 2-3 hours, and 1/2 a night's stay for 3-6 hours).  

Parking:  

We have once parking space for each room.  If you plan to arrive early and park in our lot, please make arrangements with our innkeepers.  All cars must also be removed from our parking lot at check-out.  Please do not ask us to leave cars after check-out. Ogunquit has many public lots we can direct you to.

Number of Guests and Ages:  

All published rates are per night are for 1 to 2 guests.  Moon is not appropriate for children, including infants (due to the age of the house, services and amenities offered, and with our insurance).  For Room #2, with advance notice, we can accommodate a 3rd guest for an additional $75.00 per night.  Please contact us if you wish to have an additional guest, so we can discuss the particulars.

Taxes:  

All lodging rates are subject to the prevailing State of Maine lodging tax, to be paid at check in.  Prevailing sales tax is also charged on gift shop items and in-room delights.

Form of Payment:  

Master Card, Visa, Discover American Express, cash and gift cards are accepted for balances at check-in.  Your reservation will be secured with a major credit card. 

Deposit:  

Deposits are taken with any major credit card.  A deposit of 1/2 your stay is needed to reserve a room, unless you are reserving within 14 days of arrival and we charge for the full stay.  The balance of your stay, plus current prevailing tax is due upon arrival at check-in.  For deposit refunds due to cancellations, please see our cancellation policy.  Deposits are non-refundable at anytime for groups of 3 rooms or more.

Minimum Stay:  

Generally we have a minimum of a 2 night stay in the off-season and a 3 night stay in-season (there are a few holidays or special season weekends that may have additional minimum night stay requirements).  There is a three night minimum stay for groups, where three or more rooms are reserved. 

Cancellation:

COVID Disclaimer:  All guests are expected to honor State of Maine and any local COVID requirements at the time of stay.   At this time, our cancellation policy applies as normal, unless the State of Maine restricts traveling from out of State for non-Maine residents and/or within the State for Maine residents for the dates you reserve.  We are not able to make any exceptions, as we all have much more information about COVID and better understand the risks today than we did in 2019.  We strongly encourage purchasing trip insurance to cover any situation that may involve COVID or any other circumstance.  If the State of Maine restricts travel during your stay, we will gladly transfer your deposit to a gift certificate for later use (our gift certificates never expire).  

Cancellation - Due to the size of our inn, cancellations greatly affect us.  Therefore, we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy. When we guarantee an accommodation, we enter into an agreement with you and we lose the opportunity to reserve the room to others. 
We strongly suggest you purchase trip insurance to assist with emergency situations.
Note:  We not provide refunds for early departures.
There is a $50.00 cancellation fee per room on all cancellations within any time frame. The remainder of your deposit will be refunded, if we are notified at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. 
Changing dates within a reasonable time frame (at least 30 days out) will not incur any cancellation fees. 
We are not able to offer any deposit refund on a cancellation made less than 30 days prior to arrival (unless we can rebook the room to another party, then we will apply your deposit to a gift certificate for later use and our gift certificates never expire).   
For cancellations with 14 days or less notice, you are responsible for the balance of the entire stay (unless we can rebook the room to another party, then we will only charge your deposit).
Reserving the Full Moon (6 rooms or more):  Our cancellation policy is a bit different. There is a $500 charge if you cancel two months or more before your stay.  Your deposit is kept if you cancel between one-two months before your stay. If you cancel less than a month out, you will be billed the full stay amount. 
Disclaimer:  We reserve the right to cancel reservations at anytime for (potential) guests for any reason, including those who do not follow our policies and those who do not treat the property, us, or other guests with respect and kindness.

Non-Smoking:  

All rooms are non-smoking in accordance with Maine state law, as well as our properties are a smoke-free zone.  A $500 cleaning charge will be applied to your card on file for smoking in our rooms and a $300 charge will be applied to your card on file for smoking on our property.

Pets:

Pets (2 maximum) are considered in Rooms 1 and 2, on a case by case basis.  To get our permission, please email us at innkeeper@moonovermaine.com with details prior to reservation.  There is a an extra $50 cleaning charge, per pet, for your first night stay and then $25 (per pet) for each additional night.
